Protein Functions:

1.) Makes maintenance easier
Studies show that protein not only helps you lose weight, but keep it off, too! Add protein to every meal to get the maximum amount of benefits. Shoot for a serving size of 3–4 grams at each meal. This portion will resemble the size of a closed fist or deck of cards.

2.) Roles Cont.

  • Proteins are the major component of muscle, and important for body structure and movement
  • Muscle contraction

Bonus tip: Watch your levels
Like anything, you can have too much protein, which can cause kidney stress and dehydration. Stick to .8–1.6 grams per kilograms bodyweight a day, depending on your activity level. Women only need 46 grams per day to survive and Men need 56 grams per day to survive. This number will vary depending on lean body mass. For example, a 130-pound woman should have at least 47–95 grams of protein per day.
